Relationship with Local Communities

Donations in Miharumachi (Fukushima Prefecture)

The municipality of Miharu in Fukushima prefecture, where an Iwaki plant is located, has a “Regional Vitality Project” for the purposes of slowing the population decline and invigorating this area, such as developing human resources for the future and improving the environment for raising children. Iwaki is supporting this project with measures that include the use of Japan’s corporate hometown tax system to make donations.

Blood Drive

The Iwaki plants in Saitama and Miharu hold blood drives twice every year as part of their social responsibility programs. In recognition of these activities over many years, these factories have received certificates of appreciation from the Japanese Red Cross and the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare. These blood donation programs will continue in order to help as many people as possible.
